This historic chapter in the Oklahoma River's history recognizes Oklahoma City's emerging role in both national and international sports, and creates opportunities for Oklahoma City to further develop the Oklahoma River into a world-class competitive and recreational center for rowing, canoeing and kayaking. Oklahoma City is well on its way to becoming an integral part of the US Olympic Movement by providing America's top rowing and canoe/kayak athletes with the best training facilities and resources available to help prepare them to perform at their highest level on the world stage.
